Resilience through Resistance
What is the relationship between resistance and resilience? How do we resist systems of oppression that seek to undermine us while at the same time fostering our capacity to reanimate our lives?
We are looking for women to participate in a submission to The Open Society Documentary Photography Project, a new joint exhibition and grant opportunity that engages with ideas of resistance and embraces the role and agency of artists themselves in shaping our societies. Individuals with complex lived experiences with race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation/expression, religion, nationality, mental health, addiction and immigration status and who are available during April for a 1-2 hour interview and shoot to take place in their home, should contact us through filling out the form below.
If selected, photos will be exhibited in New York in October and will be the starting part for a larger project asking similar questions with residents of the DTES.
